 THE ARTIFACT MANIFEST: 

This blog serves as an evolving online gallery and database of badass women artist in hopes of inspiring some sort of discourse on the work presented. The catalyst for its creation was part necessity and part frustration. During my years at University I studied fine arts and art history, I was always disappointed in the lack of reverence, publicity and presence of female artists. I knew at some point that I would want to create my own catalogue of women artists. While taking a class called “Curatorial Studies” I was given an assignment to make a blog. Knowing I didn’t want to create more dead space on the internet it seemed like the perfect time to start working on the project I had been thinking about for so many years.
    With that in mind it’s important to note that I see the view the term “badass” as being relative. For me it embodies a mentality and a way of working that suggests empowerment and confidence in one’s abilities and message. That being the case this blog will span a wide spectrum of topics and mediums, with the common thread being work that has caught my eye for one reason or another.
